…for whom do they bloom?

I’m sharing a card for a friend featuring a stamp I bought over the weekend at a craft show from Uniquely Creative called Spring Bouquet.

My card layout follows the sketch over at Sunday Stamps.  For some added interest I used a stitched border die to cut my top layer from watercolour paper before I stamped my image.  I also die cut my sentiment and popped it up on several more layers of the same die cut.  I know there’s a name for that technique but it escapes me at the moment!  I finished off my sentiment with a small chippie from Make it Crafty and added a small amount of bling with a bitty gem for the dot of the ‘i’.  Hard to see in the pic but I also embossed the stamp with some new embossing powder, also from the show, from Bellbird Paperarts that has a bit of gold sparkle to it.

So I could play along at Creative Friday I’ve limited my colour palette to only three colours, yellow, white and green.  I went with yellow for the flower as my friend is a very sunny natured soul, she really does bring sunshine and light to everyone lucky enough to know her.

As I have featured a floral stamp I am also linking up my card over at The Sisterhood of Crafters for their current bloomin’ flowers challenge.

…the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them

Sharing another CAS thank you card for another colleague.

This one features one of the sentiments from the Oriental Orchid set by Altenew, which I’ve embossed in white.  I’ve also added in some embossed stars created from one of Finnabair’s stencils by Prima, aptly named Stars.  I used a stencil to make my stars so I could play along in the current challenge at AAA Cards.

My card follows the sketch at CAS Colours and Sketches, the only change I made was to add the sentiment.  Well, I think my placement of my stars is about right!  Some of them look a bit wonky too, didn’t have the best of applicators going but I need this for the morning and it’s getting a bit late here so no time to go hunting for the right tools.

I went with a starry theme from the picture inspiration at Fusion.  I was going to make a background but I’ve no idea what I’ve done with my Yupo so an alcohol ink one was out.  I tried one on watercolour paper but it just grabbed all the embossing powder even after I primed it with an anti-static tool.  Luckily a quick search in my paper bins turned up a cute set from Gorjuss and this night sky looking paper.  Bonus, the strip I trimmed off perfectly contains the Gorjuss girl image and is just about right for a bookmark, which might be tomorrow’s project.

As we express our gratitude…

Sharing a CAS thank you card I made for a colleague.

I’ve followed the current sketch over at Atlantic Hearts for my layout.  For the three strip elements I’ve stamped with a retired stamp set from Clearly Besotted called Flag Patterns.  I did this so I could play along at Retro Rubber in their tic tac toe challenge.  I bought this stamp way back in July 2016 so it meets the more than a year-old criteria.  It is clear not rubber but hoping that’s OK, I’ve got loads of clear stamps that could use some inky love and this set was one of them!

The other elements from the tic tac toe board I’ve used are stripes (from my stamp), the colour green and one word, thanks to the awesome chippie from Make it Crafty.  As this is a CAS card I’m also entering it in the current challenge at Fussy and Fancy.
