But civilized man cannot live without cooks

Sharing a quick graduation card for a newly minted chef featuring the fun Baker Girl image from Time for Tea Designs.

Think my laser printer is running low on toner as it all started to flake off as I was fussy cutting her but had to preserve as the young lady this went out to has short hair so I had to cut off all her flowing hair.  Short hair she may have but a woman she definitely is so I am entering my card in the current challenge at Creative Friday.

To make up my card I’ve followed the current sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch.  For the top left corner element, I die cut a couple of cooking utensils and wrote chef on the rolling pin, to signify the particular milestone reached.  To break up my red and white colour scheme I die cut my sentiment in silver.  I was in a super hurry to make this card, found out this morning while out about the graduating early so had about an hour and a half from start to finish, including finding the image.  So not much time to measure out things etc, hence the sentiment running into the image, although I kinda like that in the end.

At CASology their current theme is ‘active’.  Now aside from the crafty hustling I had to do to complete this in time for dinner out (not celebrating the graduation but still an opportune time to hand deliver this card) being a chef is an incredibly active role.  So much so indeed the new chef was telling me she already has plans to get another certification for her next career as very few chefs make it to retirement as chefs; too many sore backs and other assorted aches and pains for that.  But still, super proud of this young woman who has battled a serious mental illness to become a chef, finish her training early and be entrusted to run the kitchen where she works while the boss takes a much-needed family holiday.  Oh, and quite chuffed that she loved the card too!
