That is our Intergalactic Flying Space Saucer

It’s one of my nephew’s birthday so I searched through my digi stash and found the adorable Pwew pwew pwewJude from the Jude and the Rockers’ Space collection at Simply B Stamps that I knew would make an awesome card for a little boy.

To make up my card I followed the sketch over at Creaine, which gave me the idea of having Jude ‘busting’ through and hence my sentiment too.  With my faux ripped design I didn’t need any embellies, which works well for a boy and a young child.  I did put Jude on some Action Wobbles though, to help give the impression of him flying through the air.

Over at Craft for the Craic they’re looking for project suitable for a child, which my card had better be given my nephew is only turning five so I’m entering their challenge.  And being for a child I chose papers in vibrant colours (they look brighter in real life, I’m yet to master lighting on my photos) so I’m also entering my card in the current challenge over at The ABC Challenge.

No one said how I had to deliver the eggs!

I’ve got another fun image from the new Teen Scene Holiday collection from Simply B Stamps, this is Floppy Hoppy Christian.

This image just makes me think of “tricking” at Halloween, I mean there’s a guy in a silly costume and he is clearly about to throw an egg at someone or something.  I was almost going to do up my card in Halloween papers but then I found the sweet Yellow Bicycle paper pad in my stash so decided to do this as a true Easter card, even if it isn’t actually Spring here in Australia for Easter so the colours of Halloween would have suited better!

To make up my card I followed the current sketch at Sketch n’ Dies, I used several Nesties to cut the various elements so I’m covered on the dies part of the challenge too.  In my usual style, despite all the die cuts on my card, I decided to fussy cut and pop the image off the page, hence the bit of white around those super thin whiskers!  For all fuss and bother I am entering this in the current challenge at Cute Card Thursday although I am not too sure how clever my cutting really is given the angst it sometimes causes.

El Dia de los Muertos

The uber talented artists at Simply B Stamps and The Stamping Chef have teamed up again for another awesome challenge, this time is Vampires vs The Day of the Dead.  And today I’ve got my Day of the Dead card to share, she features Annierexia from Simply B Stamps.

I love digis for the ability to resize any which way you want, which is exactly what I did with Annierexia, stretching her lengthwise to suit the sketch I followed from Retro Sketches.  I love her gorgeous curls which were great to colour.

The challenge called for one of two things besides the images, Betty’s offering was glitter so I’ve featured that in my card using her image.  There’s glitter on the stickers I used for the embellishments in the top corner, I also used two kinds of glittery paint on my flower layers.  The sketch also forced me to use some of the metres of baker’s twine I have in my collection, much of which has nothing missing off the spool!

I found some glittery ribbon among my SBS Ribbon Swap stash in a colour to match my image and also found the skeleton in my button stash, I thought he was rather appropriate for a Day of the Dead themed project.  With these elements I’m also entering my card in the current challenges at Joanna Sheen, Drunken Stampers, and Party Time Tuesday.  With my digi I’m also entering into the challenge at One Stitch at a Time.

Cherry Topped Wishes

This little card features the sweet Wryn with a Cherry on Top from Tiddly Inks.
As this was for a little girl’s birthday, I used a lot of brightly coloured papers and shades of pink.  I also remembered to leave enough room when I printed my image to be able to use a die to cut a nice frame around it.  I love the embossed border from the Spellbinders’ die as it allows you to then put a coloured frame around the die-cut shape, although my chalking technique needs some work to keep it even!

Tiddly Inks are having a “use a Wryn” challenge so I’m entering my card in that challenge.
