I’m sharing a fun card I made featuring Ariel the Little Mermaid by YamPuff.

Over at ABC Challenge they are looking for shaped cards so I got out my Silhouette and cut this fab shell card template from Sandra’s Scrapshop from some Bazzill cardstock as my base.  I then went to town with glitter and embossing powder and pearls to decorate it.

Alphabet Challenge has a fun recipe challenge going on and I used a number of the ingredients; a digi stamp, sentiment, pearls, a die cut and oodles of embossing powder to make the shell, well, rough and mother of pearly.

Not that this card needs any added dimension but the Southern Girls are asking crafters to pop it up so that’s what I did.  Not sure how well it shows on the photos but the inner shell lining is secured with foam squares so it doesn’t sit flat on the base, the image is also on foam squares and the seaweed at her tail is on a double layer of foam squares to give another layer.

I had lots of fun making up this card.  Sandra has heaps of great patterns for sale on her blog and she offers an option to print and hand cut or files for the Silhouette if you have one.
